Love or hate JJJJound’s ultra-simplistic take on elevated streetwear; there’s no denying that they’ve tapped into something special, aligning their refined style with brands far and wide just as tech runners brand have come back into focus. Famously, much of their most coveted footwear has come with help from New Balance, yet this past calendar year has been relatively scant for the two frequent partners, only linking up once with a wintery edition of the New Balance 2002R. Out of nowhere, the two imprints are joining forces once again for an all-black edition of that same concept.
Indeed, in broad strokes, this continues the elevator pitch of the aforementioned versions; the lifestyle model wears durable GORE-TEX material again in this late ’24 pair. However, it’s an almost all-black execution on tap this time, only interrupted by flares of blue on the ABZRB pods under the heel and the branding tab underneath the collar. Additionally, while the February pack relied on the typical suede and mesh build of the New Balance 2002R, here JJJJound swaps to leather overlays, a further development of the winterized turn for the daily driver silhouette.
While we’re running low on release days left in 2024, JJJJound shared these teasers with a clear “FW24” tag. It’ll be a short turnaround, but expect this pair landing before the year is out.
